Special note: La Palmosa is located in Cuatrocienegas, Coahuila, a region historically known for having desert bighorns. After a catastrophic die-off, desert bighorns were reintroduced from Tiburon Island in 2004. The lodge opened in 2013 and has been managed very conservatively to ensure the quality of its rams, and the results so far are truly incredible. The 11 rams taken in the two years the ranch has been open have averaged 180 points, with last year’s rams \scoring 194, 188, 182, and 168. In January 2015, two rams were taken with scores of 187 1/8 and 179.The ranch will take care of all necessary tags as well as the CITES permit to export/import your trophy. They will also assist with the paperwork to take your rifle into and out of Mexico or provide you with a rifle if you do not wish to take your own. This hunt is equivalent to a Governor’s Tag, the hunter can choose before any other person when to hunt, allowing him/her to harvest the largest ram our guides have spotted before the season starts.
