Donation: Designed by John Browning in 1894, the Winchester Model 94 remained in production until 2006 and is the best-selling high-powered rifle in U.S. history. This classic lever-action rifle in 30-30 Win with an 8 round capacity has a walnut stock, crescent buttplate, original-style buckhorn sights and a button magazine. A deep, richly blued 24" octagonal barrel adds to this firearm’s classic appearance. Baron Technology has add a custom touch with the receiver being treated to a traditional modified Winchester engraving pattern #2 that has been hand cut with additional scrollwork achieving 80% coverage. In recognition of the USA Shooting Team’s participation in the upcoming Olympic Games in London, engraving on the right side of the receiver depicts London’s iconic “Big Ben” with an overlay of 2012 and the left side of the receiver has the USA Shooting Team logo surrounded by a wreath. The receiver is finished in satin nickel plating and further embellished with 24k gold touches and line work. Proceeds of the auction item benefit the USA Shooting Team in preparation for competition at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
