FR-39 SPRINGFIELD SPORTERIZED TAKE DOWN 30.06 MADE UP IN THE EARLY 1920'S FROM THE FRANK PACHMAYR COLLECTION
Fully donated by the Pachmayr Foundation, 130 Siddle Drive, Cody, WY 82414.
Donation: This is a very special firearm for the Wild Sheep Foundation from the Frank and Anita Pachmayr Foundation.  This springfield was porterized in the early 1920's, it has a Noske base and scope of the 20's vintage. Not many of these scopes were sold since the base and scope were expensive for the time. With mounting it could cost up to $100. Noske began manufacturing in the San Francisco are in 1920 and remained in business until 1941. In the later years he produced sniper scopes for the armed forces. As with the rifle this scope is a rare and collectable item. Included with this firearm is copy of Frank A Pachmayrs "America's Master Gunsmith" a colorful biography of Frank Pachmayr, America's own gunsmith emeritus. Anybody who is at all interested in American firearms will know of Frank Pachmayr. This is an auction item you won't want to miss at the Reno Convention, 2012!
Value: $10,000.
