Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife is pleased again to have WSF auction their bighorn sheep auction permit for 2013. The permit is for one California bighorn sheep. Anyone is eligible to bid, regardless if you’ve harvested a bighorn in Washington. The successful bidder will be issued a license and tag, and will be able to hunt Selah Butte (Sheep Unit 4), Umtanum (Sheep Unit 5), Cleman Mountain (Sheep Unit 7), Quilomene (Sheep Unit 13), Tieton (Sheep Unit 15), and Manson (Sheep Unit 16) sheep units. The auction permit hunter can hunt from September 1 to December 31, 2013; that’s two weeks earlier than the general bighorn permit season! WSF retains 10% of the auction purchase price.

A 5% buyers premium will be added to the final bid price of each special permit sold, unless prohibited by statute. Proceeds will be dedicated to WSF Conservation Initiatives.
