A 5% buyers premium will be added to the final bid price of this special permit/tag (unless prohibited by statute.) Proceeds will be dedicated to WSF Conservation Initiatives. If the winner of this item refuses to pay the premiums required, the item shall be offered to the next highest bidder for the price he/she bid.

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is pleased to again have WSF host the California bighorn sheep auction permit for 2017. Anyone is eligible to bid, regardless if you’ve harvested a bighorn in Washington. The successful bidder will be issued a license and tag, and will be able to hunt in the following California bighorn sheep herds: Mt Hull, Manson, Swankane, Quilomene, Umtanum, Selah Butte, and the Cleman Mountains. The auction permit hunter can hunt from September 1 to December 31, 2018; that’s two weeks earlier than the general bighorn permit season! Much of the land is managed by WDFW, which generally prohibits commercial guiding. However, the auction permit holder can expect approval to retain a guide during the 1st 2 weeks of the season (as well as after draw permit hunting closes). WSF retains 10% of the auction purchase price.
