A 5% buyer’s premium will be added to the final bid price of this special permit/tag (unless prohibited by statute.) Proceeds will be dedicated to WSF Conservation Initiatives. If the winner of this item refuses to pay the premiums required, the item shall be offered to the next highest bidder for the price he/she bid.

Taos Pueblo Division of Natural Resources is pleased to demonstrate its commitment to wild sheep restoration and conservation by partnering with the Wild Sheep Foundation for the auction of a Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep permit. Proceeds from this permit will be used to aid Taos Pueblo in its mission to manage wild sheep populations and to ensure the availability of these resources for future generations. Taos Pueblo is actively involved in the management of two distinct populations of Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep in the Wheeler Peak Wilderness and the Rio Grande Gorge. The successful bidder may hunt any bighorn ram on “Tract C” of Taos Pueblo during the 2022 hunting season (excluding October 27th – November 5th). The average score of rams harvested during this hunt is over 184. The official state record was harvested at Taos Pueblo by Neal Ainsworth scoring 198 4/8. Taos Pueblo will provide airport pickup (Taos, Albuquerque, or Santa Fe), scouting, room and board, cook, horse and tack, and a generous hunting season. Taos Pueblo has also specified Frontier Outfitting as the licensed outfitter for this hunt. Frontier Outfitting will provide scouting, guide service, and game care. All negotiations for guide service shall be made with Frontier Outfitting. Contact GT Nunn at (505) 350-9775, (505) 864-9392. This permit is valid during the 2022 season. All hunters must comply with the rules and regulations in the Taos Pueblo Game & Fish Code.
